Scott Ratliff
and Tim Good were born and raised in Huntsville, Alabama. Both attended elementary school and middle school together.
They both graduated from Huntsville High School in 1980. Tim attended Calhoun College and Scott went to the University
of Alabama on a music scholarship where he played in the Million Dollar Band.
Tim played drums at home in
his early days banging away to all kinds of music. Scott played sax in the concert band, marching band, and jazz band
during high school. He also performed with local swing bands and groups. Both Tim and Scott have
older siblings so they were exposed to music from the 50's, 60's and 70's. Over time they came to enjoy
some of this music, as much if not more, than what was popular during their high school days of 1976-1980. As
they got older they got married, had kids and began singing in choirs and playing music at their local churches.
After realizing how tough it was to get multiple people together to practice and perform, they started prerecording certain
tracks of music (piano, background vocals, bass and others as needed). When they performed they would play drums, sing lead
vocals and some background vocals, guitar, sax and other instruments of their choosing, along with the prerecorded portions.
The sound created a much larger group sound with only two people performing. They could sound like a 6-10 piece group with
only two players. PEOPLE LOVED THE SOUND!
After being asked to perform on a regular basis for different functions such as receptions, pool
gatherings and private Christmas parties, they decided they would try and start playing more often. From there they started
playing wine tastings, summer pool openings, anniversay parties, Halloween and Christmas parties and much more. In 2007,
they played a total of 18 times in the Huntsville and Guntersville area. THE
FEVER WAS STARTING TO CATCH HOLD!!!!!
Although they both have real jobs, Tim is the
Assistant Manager at a local wine distributor and Scott is the Manager at a local drugstore, they continue to play whenever
they can and when their wives allow them to.....
The sound they produce sounds like the original recordings with
a KICK!!!!
Our goal is to provide folks a good time
while playing songs from yesteryear. We want to have people tapping their feet and singing along with all the songs and remembering
a simplier time gone by. Thus "LOOKING BACK".
Our band is here to provide a musical atmosphere for
all of your gatherings. Over the years we have taken our guests away from the stress of everyday life and created a relaxing
and fun time.
We believe everyone deserves their down time away from the stress of work and family. If
